A Very Serious Situation Exists in Bayville N.Y.

The Jericho Water District said “NO” to the police antenna because they felt it was a safety risk to their water supply – why doesn’t Bayville have a problem with that?
Radiation is known to be emitted from cell phone antenna and commercial radio communication equipment. Should that be sitting on our water supply?
The International Association of Firefighters has banned microwave radio antenna and cell sites from being placed on their firehouses due to the health risks– our antennas exist across the street from our schools.
If the antennas are considered not safe for the grown men and women of the New York City Fire Department why would they be safe for a 5 year old developing brain?
Los Angeles County banned cell towers near its schools – ours is 50 feet away from our school children.
Why were hundreds of Bayville residents who signed petitions opposing the site of the police equipment completely ignored while the Mayor and Trustees voted YES?
Any property owner who has ever wanted a variance, etc. knows of the Village’s strict requirement of certified mail within a certain radius – is the Village above its own law? We don’t think so!
Nobody can tell you RFR is absolutely safe – Scientists all over the world say it is not!
BRACT needs your help-
We are a committed group of Bayville residents that love our Village. We are not against Bayville; we are against the decisions that led to the cell phone antennas that are presently on our water tower, and the new police equipment to be added. We are not against the concept of protecting our residents during emergencies (the purpose of the Nassau County Police Department equipment), but we object strongly to their improper placement across the street from our elementary schools, atop an already much compromised water tower.
Indeed, in the words of the Village’s own expert, "we should be worried about what is already up there", just as the Village expert admitted to the harmful effects of the cell phone tower, the Village of Bayville also admitted that the “Wireless Telecommunications Facilities may pose significant concerns to the health, safety, public welfare, historic character, aesthetic qualities and environment of the Village and its inhabitants.” (Local Law Number 2002-8 Section 2).
